Volunteer with WellMama

WellMama would no exist without the amazing support that our volunteers provide to us.That’s why we are always offering opportunities to volunteer with WellMama.

WellMama welcomes new volunteers throughout the year. We will work with volunteers to understand their areas of interest and place them appropriately. We have many volunteer opportunities available! No amount of time is too insignificant, and every little bit makes a huge impact.

Examples of Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Peer support volunteer opportunities: Support group facilitation and/or Warm Line. English and Spanish needed.
  • Help write our newsletter or blog.
  • Administrative tasks
  • Brochure and material deliveries
  • Join a committee: Fundraising, Education, Outreach, etc.
  • Join WellMama’s Board of Directors

WellMama Volunteer Trainings 2018

You Will Learn:

  • About the perinatal mood disorders beyond the Baby Blues affecting 750 pregnant and postpartum women, children, and families in Lane County this year alone.
  • How maternal mental health effects babies as infants and as they grow into adolescence.
  • How to recognize risk factors and symptoms you may notice in your friends and clients or patients.
  • What you can do to support a woman experiencing pregnancy and childbirth-related anxiety, anger, severe sadness, feelings of inadequacy, guilt, and extreme fatigue.

Trainings are led by WellMama’s Lead Trainers: Jessica Schultz, Kallen Korin,and Natalie Berkman.

Our Volunteer Trainings are free for anyone who is looking to volunteer with WellMama. If you are interested in expanding your Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorder knowledge for personal or professional development, we ask that you make a $40 payment prior to the training.
