About WellMama Support Groups

Pregnancy & Postpartum Depression Support Groups in Eugene and Springfield

WellMama offers 5 pregnancy and postpartum depression support groups every month in Eugene and Springfield and 2 prevention & skills-oriented Wellness Mamas groups in Eugene. Groups are small and intimate, with about 2-5 women attending each session. Trained “support mamas” facilitate each group and share information about prevention and wellness. Facilitators answer questions without giving advice.

Support people, including partners, and babies under a year are welcome at all meetings. Some groups are kid friendly and some provide childcare – check details below. Mats, toys, and blankets are provided. Attendees receive resource packets with helpful information at their first support group.

WELLNESS MAMAS groups are a place to learn wellness skills to aid in prevention, well-being, and recovery. They are open to anyone impacted by difficult emotions during pregnancy and postpartum. Donation suggested (but not required)

Q. Are Wellness Mamas groups different than support groups?

A. Yes, somewhat. Wellness Mamas groups are fitting both if you’re learning self-care skills as part of your recovery, and if you’re feeling “all better” or you’re haven’t experienced any distressing symptoms but want to learn some self-care skills. You will learn about wellness and talk more generally about issues related to self-care. There won’t be the same opportunity to share about personal experience and receive direct support as you have at support groups. Also, there is never a suggested donation at support groups, but we do request (but don’t require!) a donation for attending Wellness Mamas groups
