Attendees will learn:
- About perinatal mood disorders beyond the “baby blues” that will affect 750 pregnant and postpartum women, children, and families in Lane County this year alone
- How maternal mental health affects babies as infants and as they grow into adolescence
- How to recognize risk factors and symptoms
- How to support a woman experiencing pregnancy and childbirth related anxiety, anger, severe sadness, feelings of inadequacy, guilt, and extreme fatigue
All those who are interested in becoming a volunteer will need to attend this workshop as one of the first steps in learning how to support families affected by perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
Cost of Training: $45 includes materials, lunch, and certificate of training.
